Description:

The Financial District, birthplace of New York City and the nation, is characterized by awe-inspiring historical sites, winding cobble-stone streets and the day-time bustle of the city’s brokers. The boundaries of the Financial District are Fulton Street to the north, Battery Park to the south, the Hudson River to the west and the East River to the east. This is the governmental and financial center of New York, with Wall Street, home to the New York and American Stock Exchanges, at its epicenter. Locals and tourists alike, are drawn to the nearby South Street Seaport, with its numerous shops, exhibits, restaurants and bars. During the daytime, this is one of the busiest and most exhilarating neighborhoods in the world, but winds down to peace and quiet in the evenings. Many bankers and brokers prefer living in this booming residential neighborhood, finding it convenient to get to work. Formerly the site of the World Trade Center, real estate development in this neighborhood was temporarily set back in the aftermath of September 11th, but is now once again flourishing. Beautiful new residences with stunning views are becoming available at relatively affordable rates to encourage residents to move back downtown.
