Upper East Side / Lifestyle & Information

Lifestyle & Information

Description:

Arguably the most prestigious and decisively the most affluent neighborhood in Manhattan, the Upper East Side embodies the true elegance and culture of New York. The neighborhood extends from 59th to 96th Street and bordered by Fifth Avenue and the East River. The quiet streets lined with enchanting brownstones, charming townhouses and extravagant mansions, are amidst a plethora of quiet conveniences including restaurants, playgrounds, small parks lining the East River as well as Central Park on the west border. The city’s elite shop along Madison Avenue at the fashionable designer stores, mothers escort their children to the most prestigious schools, while young professionals dine at the numerous cafes and bistros. Fifth Avenue, also known as Museum Mile, is home to some of the world's most prominent art institutions: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Frick Art Collection, to name a few. While the Upper East Side is ideal for families, professionals, too, flock to the area. Many are surprised to find reasonably priced apartments, primarily east of Lexington Ave.
